Clones Film Festival shows non commercial films to a local audience that would normally find such films inaccessible. A core part of the festival has been to provide a platform for film-makers. This year’s festival will run from October 20th to 24th in a specially constructed cinema in the Lennard Arms Hotel, Clones, The Cinemobile, The Courthouse and other smaller screens. The programme consists of 4/5 screening slots per day. This includes full-length features, shorts, animation, workshops by film professionals and talks. Our programme includes educational, animation and film workshops for schools. In 2010 we will again expand our educational and interactive workshop elements. The Festival will also continue to engage film practitioners involved in all aspects of film. Our target audience is as diverse as the films we show. The Festival is organised by an eight member voluntary committee. We are mentored by Monaghan Arts Office and we evaluate our programming by monitoring audience numbers and carrying out audience surveys.
