The growth of both the asset management industry and professional allocators has raised serious challenges. Manager discovery and relationship building is a big challenge. Additionally, discerning manager talent cannot be done through quantitative analysis alone. Understanding the manager’s edge and getting into ‘the weeds’ is often crucial. Both Managers and allocators face a big challenge. There are lots of ‘misses’ where allocators miss out on opportunities because they were unaware and managers miss out because they didn’t know an allocator existed. Because the industry is built on relationships, things like social media, etc. are not really fit for purpose; particularly when you consider an industry that is highly regulated and opaque! Discovery is crucial and we need better tools. Pueblo is a simple idea aimed to solve one aspect: manager/investor discovery via getting to know each other on a personal level. Pueblo is all about bringing people together that should know each other.
