The idea is that as 500+ bikes are cycled around at random, they will collect pollution data and correlate it with location and time. When this stage is complete, the data gleaned from the initial tests will be used to inform a production model which will be available to both cities (for integration into bike schemes) and individuals (for personal use) worldwide.
