Anti-microbial resistance is a "ticking time bomb"​, with 70% of GPs prescribing antibiotics when they are unsure if they are treating a viral or bacterial infection. This uncertainty is currently costing the EU €1.5 billion annually, and responsible for taking the lives of 25 000 people every year in Europe alone. Exorbitant costs and extensive time requirement dissuade investment from Pharma companies and prevent the development of new antibiotic treatments. Our newest product, VBXpress, tackles the unmet need for rapid, specific, and sensitive detection of viral and bacterial infection, letting patients leave their GP visit with the right diagnosis and the right medicine.
