WIT Kayaking Club

The club was founded in the college in 2002 by Michael Reynolds and a small group of new members. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength. We compete in different events every year, the most important of which for us is the annual Irish Canoe & Kayak Intervarsity event. The club has risen from last on the table in 2003 to 7th in 2017 winning most improved club and a brand new boat. Although a small club at the start we now find ourselves as the most active club on campus and the biggest club outside of the main field sports clubs. Although currently building a fleet of different canoes and kayaks for different paddling types, we currently focus on whitewater, canoe polo, freestyle and long distance. The club currently comprises of a base of 25+ regular paddlers and some oldies now left college and social members who tag along on our regular nights out in whatever town or city we find ourselves paddling near.
